These are very difficult times for injury victims. Over the 25 years or more that I have been practicing law, I have grown more and more frustrated over the way that totally innocent injured people are treated, and taken advantage of, by large trucking companies, by their big insurance companies, and even by unethical and incompetent lawyers who put their interests ahead of those who have been injured and need help.
Over and over, I hear the same story. "I'm the injured person. I'm totally innocent. I did nothing to cause the accident, but I'm being treated like I was a criminal!"
TRUCK ACCIDENTS ARE BIG BUSINESS
Let's face it. The trucking business, the insurance business, the legal business are BIG BUSINESS when it comes to truck accidents. A big-rig can wipe-out an entire family in the blink of an eye. Those that survive may be seriously injured or permanently disabled for life.
Too often, however, the human tragedy of those accidents goes unnoticed by those who can see only dollar signs and whose actions are motivated solely by their own greed.
Trucking companies are in the business of making money. They know how catastrophic truck accidents can be. A single accident can cost it thousands of dollars in increased insurance premiums and deductibles -- and even threaten its ability to get insurance and stay in business at all.
Insurance companies make millions by insuring commercial truckers but it is an extremely high-risk business where even a single accident can end up costing it hundreds of thousands -- even millions -- of dollars if the truck line it insures is found to be at fault!
It may be your life, or the life of someone dear to you, that is at stake, but to them, it is a matter of money -- BIG MONEY -- where each dollar paid out in claims is a dollar less in profit for them!
